ARG!

Yesterday I was going to Dallas. I had an appt. at noon. What happened? I was driving (and safely I might add!), and all of a sudden I hit something, who knows what, and I heard this loud BANG! I thought maybe I'd had a blow out, but my car didn't feel like the wheels were messed up. So, when I pulled over and walked around the car, I found gas gushing out of the tank! I hit something that put a pretty good gash in the tank because the gas that I bought yesterday morning was flooding the grass! So I was stranded about halfway between Jacksonville and Dallas. I finally got a hold of Chris, and he headed to my rescue. And, my fabulous father-in-law brought his trailer and hauled the car back to Jacksonville. In the meantime, I got my appt. rescheduled, and I got to Dallas around 12:40! Whew! What a day!

Now I'm counting down the hours till noon tomorrow. I'm going on my first ever camping trip! For real deal, sleep in a tent camping trip! We're heading up to Arkansas, and it should be a blast. Luckily, I didn't tear up the van, so we're still good to go with that vehicle!

I think that Caleb's figuring out that it's fun to go to the grandparents' houses. I already wrote how excited he got at my folks' house last weekend. Now last night he decided he wanted his MeMaw. Helen and Farrah came over to get some luggage from us, and when they were leaving, Caleb just followed them to the truck and got in! He thought he needed to go with MeMaw. I didn't put up a fuss either! I was exhausted and just wanted to sleep! So we kissed him, and off he went, and I was asleep by 9! YEAH!

Whoopin' Weekend

We got to go to College Station for the football game on Saturday. We dropped Caleb off at my parents' house on our way through, and he wasn't the least bit upset that we were leaving! I told him I loved him and kissed him, and he threw that hand up in the air and said "BYE!" Glad to know I'm loved.....

College Station was great. It's always nice to get down there and eat some good College Station food. We got to eat some wings with Rebecca and catch up with her. You would know it that right after we got to the football game, the lightning got really bad and it came a downpour. I'm no longer one of those hard-core, sit in the rain Aggie fans (I'm getting too old!), so we left. Eventually it cleared up, but we didn't go back. Oh well, it was a fun day anyway!

Yesterday we had a birthday lunch for my dad. Emily said that we had to have birthday candles for his cake, and she helped him blow them out. Then Caleb decided it was his turn to "blow it." He remembered that last weekend was Grandma's birthday party because when I would talk to him about it being Pop's birthday or when he'd see Grandma, he kept saying "Happy Birthday, Grandma!" Talk about a good memory! After lunch I was holding Evan, and Caleb got so jealous. He thought he should be up in my lap too. So he was on one leg and Even on the other. Caleb looks like a giant next to Evan! He was cute though, and kept pointing at him and saying "baby Eh-en." How jealous will he be when he becomes a big brother? Maybe he'll handle it better by then!

CALEB!!

I just had to tell ya'll this cute story that just happened. Caleb and I are eating supper. He grabbed his drink, nothing out of the ordinary, and all of a sudden he said "CALEB!" in this crazy low voice. I wondered what he was saying that for, and I noticed his drink was spilling on the floor. He was saying his name like I do when I'm getting onto him! While I was cleaning it up, he said, "Caleb, what do that for?" How cute!

He's been so good today considering he should be tired. Last night he woke up at 12:30 and didn't go back to sleep until 4! We cleaned the house this morning (YUCK!); it was bad this time. We've been busy this week and haven't kept on top of things. Then we went out to Chris's parents' house to wash and wax his car. While Chris and I were washing the car, Caleb and Nathan played in the water. After we moved on to waxing, they splashed the rags in the bucket and played with the hose. They were soaked! But they had a blast. They're too cute!

Now we're hanging out in our nice, clean house, and Caleb is throwing around his animals. He's really gotten attached to his animals lately. Right now he's helping them "jump" off the couch. Tomorrow we're headed to my folks house and then to College Station for the ball game. WHOOP!

Big Boy

Caleb is really getting too big. He's really started to talk in complete sentences a lot lately. He used to just say, "bite" when he wanted to eat, but yesterday he looked at my mother-in-law and told her, "I want some food!" How big is that? Then the sweetest thing was when he looked up at me Mon. evening when we got home and said, "Momma.....I'm happy." Awwww! He's too precious! I wish you could record all these sweet little moments and play them back later, especially when he's a teenager or something and driving you nuts!

Not a lot of exciting stuff going on this week. We had dinner out at my sister-in-law's house last night. It was nice to get to sit and visit a while. Of course, we're interrupted by our kids constantly! But it was fun, and the food was great. I'm already gearing up for the weekend. Chris and I are headed to College Station for the Aggie football game Sat. We haven't been to one since we were engaged! 5 years without Aggie football is too long! I'm pumped! It should be a fun weekend. Caleb's going to play with my folks while we're gone and will probably spend the whole time riding around on my parents' new toy: their mule. Who makes that one....Kawasaki or whatever, anyway, they'll probably have a blast riding the pastures in it! Caleb can even go help Pop feed the animals!

CRAZINESS!!!

Wow! Life has been busy lately. I don't think I've just stopped for more than a couple of hours in forever! This school thing has me crazy. I've got TONS of reading to do, and I have to post some stuff online. It's much better than going to class, but I've had to do some tweaking to my schedule to get everything in! Last week I had to go to Austin for a meeting, so I had lots of time to myself to get school done. YEAH! That was about the only thing great about my trip. The meeting was very informative and everything, but I don't like leaving home for 3 days. Austin does have some pretty good restaurants, too!

While I was gone, Caleb got a bit of a cold. He was coughing and snotty. He ran a little fever Wed., but it didn't slow him down too much. By the time I got home Thurs. night, he was basically his regular self. He sat around a little more than normal, but no more fever. He still has some coughing spells, but mostly better!

Friday, I experienced the best form of birth control around! I kept my sister-in-law's three kids (ages 2, 5, and 10) so she and my brother-in-law could go out on a date. Then my 10 year-old nephew found out where all the kids were and decided to come over, too! So, in my tiny hole of a house, we had 5 kids along with Chris and me. It was a madhouse! Luckily, it was a nice evening, so they all played outside till dark. Then I had to get all 5 bathed so they didn't stink up my house! Bedtime was pretty crazy too. Nathan (the 2 year-old) was a little hard to get down, but his fabulous big sis, Bria, was a huge help! I finally crashed a little before midnight. Then Nathan woke up around 4! He laid back down with me, but he didn't really go back to sleep well until 6. Then everyone woke up around 8. Talk about a crazy night! I love the little boogers, but I don't think I want 5 kids!

Then Caleb and I traveled to Fairfield for my grandma's 80th birthday party. Chris was on call and couldn't leave town. It was a lot of fun, and I got to see lots of family members I hadn't seen in a while. I would have liked to seen more of them. My cousin Wendy's little boy, Wade, has gotten so big! We really should see each other more often! I don't think I've seen them in about 3-4 months, so Wade's really changed. He'll be 1 in Nov.

Now I'm back to work (and school) after my crazy weekend. It was nice to be out of the office for half the week last week; it's just hard to get back in the swing of things!

Catch up

I know.....it's been a while. Things have actually been busy. Chris and I are both back in school and trying to stay afloat. So far, so good! Caleb is so funny. He's definitely an entertainer. I was the nurse for career day at Mom's school last Friday, and Caleb went with me. I did my thing while he and Mom went walking around the school and visiting everyone. Every time they left the room, Caleb would look out at all the kids and say, "Bye, everybody!" Too cute! He was definitely the more memorable piece of career day!

Chris came over after work, and we stayed with the folks all weekend. It's been a while since we were able to stay so long. We went to the football game Fri. night and got to see some people, and Caleb was actually really good. He has this thing with going under the"bidge" (bridge) right now. (The bridge can be anything, your arm, leg, whatever!) I had my feet propped up on the bench in front of me, so Caleb went back and forth under my "bridge." Then he decided to take of his sandal and drop it under the bleachers. How special!

He kept everyone in stitches most of the weekend being the little ham that he is. He entertained with all of his little sayings, from "Whoa, Baby!" to the wolf sound. He got to help Nana give the horses water and go with Pop to feed the fish and see the cows. How exciting! He's still talking about it.

We got to visit our old church on Sun. It was great to see everyone again. Caleb, of course, has gotten "so big!" Caleb remembered where the nursery is and went right to it, but he wasn't happy when I left him! After a few minutes though, I was forgotten, and he was back to playing on the slide! I really miss those folks. They're great people.

I love holiday weekends. We got to have a nice relaxing day for Labor Day and didn't do much. We went for burgers out at Chris's parents' house for lunch, and then Chris and I went to a movie. It was a nice holiday. The only bad part about holidays is heading back to work the next day! I get spoiled with those extra long weekends!
