Finally Remembered!

I finally remembered to bring my camera with me to work this morning so I could download some of those pics I wrote about earlier this week. I even found some extras! My little man is too sweet. When I went to get him last night, he just ran to me and gave me some good loving! I love to hear him say "Mama!" Poor thing had another nosebleed last night; this one was the worst yet. I guess he really is going to inherit this mess from me!

Here's my tired little man! I guess he was worn out this day. Eating is hard work!

How cute is that smile? This was taken while he was wrestling with his daddy (and just after the latest "big boy" haircut)!

What animal noise is he making?.........................

(the elephant!)

Here's my big 4-wheeling man! He was just too excited!

Picnic time! Yummy cookie!

Where in the world is this? Can you believe this view from Maydelle, TX?????? This was the view during our picnic. Of course, the picture doesn't do it justice!

Little man gave out! Riding the 4-wheeler was hard work! Isn't he so sweet when he sleeps?

Concentrating hard! He loves to play drums with his daddy!

Hope you enjoy the pics! I know I probably go overboard about my sweet family! Have a wonderful weekend!

Missing My Baby...

Last night I had a meeting, so I arranged for Caleb to stay with Chris's parents for the night. I ended up getting home by 7:00, and Chris and I had a movie date! (Chris was playing hooky, by the way!) We went and saw "She's the Man." It was pretty funny. It was nice to have some time with just Chris. We had a good time just hanging out together last night. How rarely does that happen these days? I even got a good night's sleep!

Now, though, I'm missing my little man. He's having a good time with his MeMaw and Papa and probably doesn't even realize I'm gone! When we checked on him last night, he was laughing and screaming in the background. I'm ready to see that sweet smile! Oh well, I just have a few more hours here, and then it's off to get me some Caleb sugar!

Hallelujah!

My computer is finally fixed! I've been working here for over six months now, and my computer has never worked right. It would let me do some things but not others. It was pretty picky! I got a new hard drive yesterday, and now everything is just peachy! I can even blog from my desk now! Sorry...I'm just really excited!

Chris and I met his parents and the other grandkids at Dairy Queen last night. His parents wanted to take the kids to play. I was up for it, of course, because of the ice cream! Caleb and Nathan had a big time. When Chris's mom took Caleb down the slide, he thought he was such a big boy! He said, "Weeeee!" all the way down. It was so cute!

His vocabulary is just exploding. It seems like he says something new every day. Last night he kept bringing me books, and he would start telling me what was in the pictures. I have such a smart little boy! I know I'm not a proud mama or anything!

I'm gonna miss the little fella today. I have a late meeting tonight so Caleb is going to stay over at his grandparent's house tonight. Maybe I can get some stuff done around the house tonight, or maybe Chris and I can go to a movie. Who knows......

Time Flies....

Weekends are just too short! We had a great time this weekend, a couple of bumps in the road, but overall, it was great. Chris and I took Caleb for a ride on the 4-wheeler on Friday, and we had a picnic at the prettiest spot I've seen in these parts! Poor Caleb decided he was sleepy so we cut the ride short. He fell asleep in my arms on the ride back! Later that afternoon we went to a softball game. Caleb was, of course, working the crowd there. He's such a ham!

We hit our bump Fri. night. Chris's nana has a twin brother. He had lung cancer and passed away Fri. night at hospice. His funeral is today. Please keep the family in your prayers.

We spent most of Saturday at the church. Chris is fixing up his new office. I got to play babysitter to the heathen children! Just kidding, I love the little runts! Chris and his mom put some fresh paint on the walls, and it's going to look great. We also worked on getting the volleyball court lit up. That will be a little later before all the wiring is finished. Caleb played hard. We took his lawn mower and trucks out, and he had a big time. He was pooped by the time we got home. After his bath, he just crawled up on my chest and fell asleep. He can't do that enough! I just love holding him, and how rarely does that happen these days!?

Last night we had visitation for Nana's brother. Caleb was working that crowd, too. Apparently he doesn't understand solemn occasions yet! He and his cousin, Nathan, were chasing each other around and laughing the whole time. They also had to show everyone the fish in the fountain. They are so cute together!

I have some great pics from the weekend, but I forgot them today. I'll try to post them tomorrow!

He's Back!

My little terror man made a big return visit last night! It was supper time, and his MeMaw had made chicken and dumplings, which he usually will eat, but wanted none of it last night. He saw the cookies she had made and wanted them. I tried to give him some chicken with no success. Then he threw his glass in the floor and made a huge mess. Needless to say, he was in BIG trouble! His daddy got a hold of him! I haven't seen him act this bad in a while! Terrible twos are coming early! He finally calmed down, and of course 2 seconds later he was my sweet baby again.

Today he's supposed to be getting a haircut from Aunt Farrah. He'll look like a little man when I get him this evening! He's so cute after his haircuts. Sorry Mom, no more little boy! I'm having a scrapbooking party tonight for the ladies at our church. It should be a lot of fun. I just hope everyone can make it.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Only 2 1/2 more hours till mine starts!

Adorable Laugh

For all you moms (and dads) out there, how cute is it when your child really laughs at something? You know, that deep belly laugh that is just about the cutest thing ever? Well, I love to hear Caleb laugh. He does it when I tickle him and wrestle with him, but last night it was just too adorable. I went to pick him up at my sister-in-law's house, and he was having a big time playing with his cousins. He got so tickled at something and just died laughing. It was too cute!

Not much other interesting info to share today. We had another fun playtime last night while Daddy was in class. And....another easy night going to sleep! What a blessing!

Only one more day till the weekend.....

Sweetie Pie

I have the sweetest little boy! He's a completely different little man than the terror I had this weekend! I got home from work last night and he just ran to me and loved on me. We had the best time while Daddy was gone to class. After supper we shared an apple (or "ba-pple" as Caleb says). You have to leave the skin on, or he won't eat it. So he eats the insides and spits the skin out! Thanks to MeMaw for that one! It's too cute! I'm just glad he'll eat fruit!

After some hard playing, we had a fun bathtime. Of course, I'm going to have to break him of this throwing his toys out of the tub! He even did a good job brushing his teeth last night! I'm so proud! I was sitting down for a minute watching a little TV when he came and crawled up onto the couch with me. He started grabbing at my shirt like he does when he's tired. I told him to lay down with Mommy, and he actually did! He fell asleep right there on the couch. Bedtime is never that easy! We always have to spend some time singing in the bed before he'll go to sleep. What a great night! I even got to watch CSI with Chris before my bedtime! Have a great day!

Wacky Weekend

What was up with my family this weekend? It started off fairly normal. Caleb spiked a fever Thurs. evening, and of course we were supposed to be at the doctor Fri. for his check-up. The fever basically went away by then (it was probably related to teething), and the doctor said everything looked good. He definitely has a good set of lungs because he screamed the whole time I was trying to talk to the doctor! Anyway, Caleb still wasn't acting quite right, and he napped horribly that afternoon. So...he was a terror for most of the day, even when we were hanging out with Nana and Chappie in Palestine! Chris and I tried to take him to the movies with us (bad mistake!); we went to see Shaggy Dog thinking he might like the animals, but he was just a little sleepy terror who wouldn't go to sleep! Then Chris got called in (he was on call for surgery this weekend) around 9. He got home around 11:30 and called back out at 2:30. So, he was out all night and sleepy the next day.

Our schedule just got all wacked out on Sat. since Chris and I were both tired! I couldn't sleep after he got called out, and the weather was just sleepy weather! Luckily, we caught up on our zzz's Sat. night, and Caleb FINALLY slept well for the first time in a week! Going to church yesterday was soggy, and after lunch with a couple we recently met, Chris got called back to work! So, we missed church last night and did some much needed grocery shopping and got to hang out at the house. So much for a nice, relaxing weekend! Oh well, at least this was (hopefully) the last weekend Chris will have to take call.

Now it's back to work...YUCK!

Come on 6:00!

I love Thursdays! It means it's almost time for the weekend. That's one good thing about working 4 day work-weeks. I like my 3-day weekends. Of course, I don't have much planned for this weekend, except of course TONS of laundry! Caleb has a doctor's appt. tomorrow. It's just a well-child exam, but he's been having nosebleeds lately. I don't know if he's just inherited that from me (I used to get them all the time) or if he's really got something going on. I guess we'll see tomorrow....

I must say, I'm totally ready for this week to be over. I usually have about the lowest stress job on the planet, but this week I've been finalizing our grant proposal for our immunizations. Talk about stressful! If I don't do it well, we don't get money from the state! I'm just glad I'm almost finished. Just a couple of more things to add.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I'm looking forward to playing with Caleb and hanging out with Chris. Hopefully, he doesn't have too much school work to do this weekend!

Zoo Time!

Yesterday my sister-in-law called me up at work and asked if she could take Caleb to the zoo with them. Of course, I was jealous and wanted to go. I think I need a spring break too! Well, I ended up getting off and going with them! We went to Lufkin and had a ball. Caleb is too cute. They have a little train that runs around the zoo, and as we were walking up, he kept saying, "Choo, choo!" We rode it....twice! He absolutely loved it! Of course, the animals were a hit, too. He's a lot better at making the right noises now. The last time we took him to the zoo all he knew was "roar" and "moo!" Now he's pretty much got all of his sounds down. It was too cute, even if he was a little punk some of the time! He's just a little independent....where could he have gotten that from? Oh well, it was a great day...too bad his daddy had to stay home and go to school! I let him stay up a little late last night so they could have some play time together. I just love watching them play.

Not much else is happening around here. I got accepted to grad school. Yea! Now I just need to get enough scholarships/grants to pay for it. Pray for free money! Have a great day, everybody!

Back to Reality!

Well, the weekend was great! Chris and I had a blast in the metroplex. Riverdance was good; Chris did a great imitation! We had a good time together, but we missed our little man! I think he had a great time at Nana and Pop's house, though. He got to play (LOTS) and ride Pop's tractor. Emily even came down to play.

I loved it when we met Mom and Dad yesterday to pick him up. That smile is priceless! I just love being the mommy! After church last night, we took him to McDonald's for some chicken (his favorite). Then he and Daddy played. It was so cute! They played his version of hide-and-seek. He goes to look for Daddy and screams and laughs and runs away when he finds him. It's too cute! Lucky for us, that pretty much wore him out, so after a bath and brushing his teeth, he was ready for bed!

Time to go!

Well, I'm at Mom and Dad's house waiting for Mom to get home from school. We're all set for our fun weekend! Caleb will be completely spoiled, and Chris and I can have some "us" time. We definitely could use more of that! Things definitely changed once Caleb came along! But, I wouldn't change a thing! I love the little fella!

He's too cute, as usual. He's just running around playing with all of his toys. Nana has a whole playroom just for the grandkids! His knot on his head is getting a lot better. I gues I truly have a clumsy little boy because as soon as one "boo-boo" gets better, we get another one. We were getting ready to come over here today, and he fell in the carport and skinned his knee up! I think it must come from his daddy's side, right? I'm NEVER clumsy! (yea, right!) Oh well, at least this one wasn't nearly as traumatic as the last one.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend.....

Ready for the weekend!

I know it's only 1:00 on Thurs., but I'm already counting down. I tend to do this every week, but I'm really excited about this weekend. Chris doesn't have to work tomorrow, and I'm off every Friday, so we're headed out of town tomorrow for a date weekend! For part of my Valentine's present he gave me a coupon for any Bass Hall performance I want to go see. SO, I chose Riverdance, and we're leaving tomorrow! I'm so excited! I love the theater, and I love to get out of town. It's going to be a great weekend. I know I'll miss Caleb though. He probably won't care that we're gone because he's going to get spoiled rotten all weekend at Nana and Pop's house!

Caleb stayed at Chris's Nana's house yesterday. His aunt and uncle live just down the way, and they came up a couple of times yesterday on the 4-wheeler. Each time he met them at the door, pointed to the 4-wheeler, and said, "Ride?" He's so smart! Of course, they rode him around a little, and I'm told he was laughing and talking the whole time. I've got an outdoors-y boy on my hands! At least I know he'll have fun in Colorado this summer when we go on vacation!

It's a hit!

Well, I showed up to get Caleb last night after I got my cool new minivan. I put Caleb in, and he walked around and went right up front to play with all the knobs. I guess he likes it! He really fell in love when his daddy put a DVD in! I think I'm gonna love that too! Of course, I'll be able to recite every Veggie Tales by heart after a while! I must say, I think I'm going to like being a "minivan mom." I love my new van!

Other that new car joys, not much else is going on in the George household. We had our typical night of playing last night, nothing too exciting, but of course, Caleb is too cute! I'm already looking to Fri. so I can have a day off with him. For now, I have to get back to work. Yes...I am actually working today!

Officially Old!

I have officially become an old mom. I bought a minivan. That's right...the one vehicle I never wanted to own. Chris and I went car shopping yesterday and found the greatest car salesmen ever. We had the car buying experience that every place should offer. No scuzbuckets! Anyway, I got my minivan, and Chris traded his car in for a Focus. My van should be ready any minute now; they wouldn't let me have it yesterday because they wanted to detail it and fill it up with gas. I'm liking the full gas tank with prices as high as they are!

Caleb came running out to meet me yesterday when I picked him up. He and Nathan were dancing with Bria. They were just in diapers and soooo cute! We had some bonding time last night since Chris was in class, so we got in some good playtime. I think his favorite game is chase. He loves to run away and have you chase him. I love to hear his laugh!

Of course, bath time was an adventure as always. He has this new thing about throwing his toys out and expecting you to get them for him. Then when he gets out, he always turns around and says, "Bye-bye, bath!" How cute is that? Oh, the joys of being a mom.....

OOPS!!

Well, Austin was so thrilling! Nursing leadership conference.....2 fun-filled days! At least the ladies I went with were great.
I love coming home. The smile on Caleb's face is just priceless (and on Chris's face too)! I had so much fun playing with Caleb after I got home. My family is so precious. Yesterday, Chris and I went on a "quick" trip to Tyler to visit someone in the hospital. Several hours later, we were at a car dealership. Chris and I both want a new car. Chris wants a little car with great gas mileage, and much to my dismay, I want to become a "minivan mom." Anyway, Chris was test driving a car, and Caleb and I were playing. He was playing with one of those balloons on the cars and having a blast. Then he decided to run off. Being the graceful little boy that he is (just like his momma!), he tripped and fell flat on his face! Poor thing, he has his first big facial injury. We've had bumps and bruises before, but this one's a doozy! I knew he was hurt as soon as he fell. But you know kids, they're so resilient. After a little TLC, he was back to his old meddling self. And after all that drama, we didn't even buy a car! I've decided that car salesmen are scuzbuckets! I know there are some good ones out there, but these guys were totally trying to rook us. Oh well, one day we'll find the right one and buy some really great minivan from him/her! I can't believe I want a minivan. I'm officially old! Oh well, I guess it had to happen sometime......

I downloaded some pics of the head injury and found some more cute stuff. Here's Caleb helping his daddy put furniture together.
His first experience with powdered sugar donuts..

Being silly with Daddy....

Check out that forehead!

Another picture of his head, and of course I've spoiled him with a few M&M's!

Silly boy

Last night was spaghetti night, so we did our routine stripping down to the diaper before supper. Caleb hadn't eaten well at lunch, and apparently he was starving because he ate a huge plate! Then after I took the tray away, he started eating the noodles he'd dropped on his belly! I thought he would turn his bath water red with all the sauce he got on him! Then we talked to Nana and Pop on the phone. He has the cutest way of saying hello - he puts the phone on his shoulder and says "e-ooooo!" So sweet!

This morning he woke up as I was about to leave for work. So I picked him up and took him to his daddy. When I laid him down, he started screaming for me. I'm leaving for a conference in Austin this afternoon and will be gone for 2 days, so I was not about to leave my baby crying! I laid down with him and held him, and when I tried to get up and leave, he jumped over Chris and got to me. So I had to pick him up and hold him some more (you know I hate that)! Finally, he decided he could play with his dad, so I got to leave for work, late of course. I'm going to miss him and Chris the next 2 days. I wish they could go to Austin with me!
